Fall Fever

As I was trudging up the hill to class yesterday (for those of you who do not know, the University of Utah campus is pretty much on a mountain, you are either walking up or downhill) in the 100 degree weather, I could not help but think how excited I am for fall. Fall clothes, decorations, smells, tastes. Everything! It can not come soon enough! Here are some of the things I am most excited about:

Fall Decorating (I will be doing at least one of these this fall)

and last but certainly not least...Fall Clothes!

I am loving the fall colored denim. I feel like I would get a lot more wear out of these since the colder months last much longer here in Utah. Along with chunky knit sweaters and boots, I can't wait!

What are your favorite pieces for fall?

Hi-Low

Dress: Willow&Clay (could not find it, but this one is the same dress just not in a print) Jacket: Thrifted (similar) Shoes: Target (last season, similar) Bag: Kate Spade (fall version here) Necklace: Etsy Belt: Unknown Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old, similar) Watch: Skagen

The Hi-low skirt was another trend I was a little hesitant to jump on board with. Once I saw this dress, however, I knew it was meant to be. It's so comfortable. Hopefully I can transition this into the early part of fall with these boots in taupe.

Also, for those of you who asked the recipe for the tomato soup I made this weekend can be found  here (if you don't have a scale, I used 9 tomatoes and make sure they are ripe). I'm also planning on trying this one as well. You can't go wrong with tomato soup and grilled cheese!
Speaking of grilled cheese, I have to share this with you...

I will be making this ASAP. Does it not look scrumptious?

Fall Dots

Top: Thrifted Pants: T.J. Maxx Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs Shoes: UO Watch: Skagen Bracelet: Juicy Couture Necklace: F21 Belt: Target

When I saw these jeans at TJ Maxx, I knew I had to have them. Supposedly this is the must-have color for fall and they have pink polka dots on them like that J.Crew scarf. Go check your TJ Maxx and see if you can snatch up a pair!

Weekend Uniform

This weekend I spent a lot of time running around and I wanted to be comfortable so I just chose a simple top and jeans. London Calling

In just over a month I am headed across the pond to London! I am pretty excited about going but I am especially excited about the shopping! (my favorite thing to do while traveling, besides eating) However, I am not very familiar with London or what to do while I am there so I am open to suggestions! Here are a few places I am planning on stopping by while I am there.

Of course, I do not feel like I can go to Britain and not go to Topshop!
I browsed through their online site and picked out some of my favorite pieces:

Harrods is another place that I feel I have to go while I am in London. I have heard such good things about it.

My aunt and uncle actually live just outside of London and this my aunts favorite department store. I am so excited to go explore and look at some fabulous designer pieces (we have very few in the state of Utah)

I have been oogling this pair of rain boots for months! I first saw them on Pinterest and as soon as I heard that I was going to London I decided to wait to get them so I could try them on in person. This is the #1 item I hope I come home with to help me through the campus slush during the winter/spring. Aren't they adorable!?

buy them here (also in navy and black)

I would love suggestions on where to go while I am there (especially places to eat).

Summer Reading

So this summer I have not had the chance to do as much reading as I would have liked to. I did read the L.A. Candy trilogy written by Lauren Conrad and I did enjoy them. They are such an easy read. Sometimes I just need something easy to get my mind off of things and it is better than watching tv, right?

I have been looking for other books to read but a lot of the time when I go to the book store I find myself overwhelmed because I am not sure what is considered 'good' and there are so many books out there. Here's a couple that I think would be good and I would love your opinion if you have read/want to read any of these! Maybe we could get some in the blogging community to start something of a book club. Anyways, here are a few books I am planning on reading in the next few months!

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
This is on the best sellers list and if you read the synopsis, it sounds really good. It's also Lauren Conrad's book of the month for her online book club
Read the synopsis or buy the book here

Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James
This book is showing up everywhere. I am kind of curious what the fuss is all about!
Read the synopsis and buy the book here

The Fame Game by Lauren Conrad
This is the first novel of her spin-off series after the L.A. Candy trilogy that I read this summer. I enjoyed those books so I think I would enjoy these too. They are an easy, fun read.
Read the synopsis and buy the book here

Last but certainly not least..The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
I have actually already read this but it is one of my favorite American classics and the movie is coming out soon!
Read the synopsis and buy the book here

What do you think? Have you read any of these? Love to hear your thoughts!
