DC: Part Two

Here's some photos from my second day in DC. We went back to the National Mall because we had walked SO much the day before that all of us felt like our feet were about to fall off and I still wanted to go to the Lincoln Memorial.

Reflecting Pool
After we went to the Lincoln Memorial, we went to the National Zoo (also free!).
The flamingos are my favorite! How weird is it that they can wrap their necks up and stand on one leg when they sleep?
After the zoo, since we were so close to Georgetown, I had to stop by Georgetown Cupcake!
(sorry for the iPhone photos, I did not want to be one of 'those' pulling out their huge camera)

The line moves pretty quick and trust me, the cupcakes are worth it. Many of these places that have TV shows don't usually live up to the hype, in my opinion. Georgetown Cupcake totally did. In the back of the above right picture is the bedazzled Kitchen Aid mixer. Who wouldn't love one of those?

The scrumptious morsels themselves. My favorite was the one with the shamrock on it (boston creme) but of course I had to get the signature red velvet which was also very delicious. Overall, if you are in Georgetown and love cupcakes, go to Georgetown Cupcake.

Only one more post about my trip to DC tomorrow! I can't wait to show you some snapshots of where I grew up. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

DC: Part 1

Hello! I am sorry for disappearing without a trace, that was not my intention at all.
I have had a busy past couple of weeks and I cannot wait to share some of my adventures with you!
These are all from my first day in DC. I was out there to visit my dad to just hang out. Unfortunately the cherry blossoms weren't blooming yet but we had really nice weather while I was there which was great.
so touristy!
Native American Museum / Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

One of the best things about DC is that most of the museums are FREE. I have been to many of them before, so these were the only two I actually visited on this trip. Walking through the Natural History museum brought back a lot of childhood memories. I highly recommend it.
The Hope Diamond / Smithsonian taking the color of the year to a whole new level
The dinosaurs were my favorite as a kid as was the room with all of the creepy crawlies in it. Ick!

The Carousel (I could not convince my sister to go on it with me unfortunately) / Roy Lichtenstein Brushstroke sculpture

A few of the cherry blossoms were confused, I wasn't mad about it at all. They're so gorgeous!

The Jefferson Memorial

Sorry for the photo overload. I still love DC, there is so much history there and I love that there were so many people just running and playing sports all around all of the monuments. I would love to have that view every day.

Happy Monday, thanks for reading!

A Mission

Hello! Sorry for my unannounced hiatus, things have been kind of crazy and blogging got put on the back burner for a minute.
Anyways, now that I have a Canon Rebel T3i, (which I love by the way but I still have a LOT of learning to do) and I have a few vacations coming up, I have been on a mission for the perfect camera bag to hold everything. Problem is, I want one that does not look like I am going hiking or even that I am carrying a camera bag at all. The one I got with my camera is like a walking target, it says Canon Rebel on it, like, really? I might as well just get a fanny pack. Here are my favorites that I am still deciding on. If you know of any other ones or own one of these, let me know what you think in the comments!

This bag has so much padding and it looks really spacious, which is really great. I do love that it does not look like a camera bag as well.

I love this bag. Simple as that but the price is a little steep.

What do you think? Which one would you choose? I would love some input.
Thanks so much for reading. Happy Monday!
